I love making jokes and telling stories, it's really fun! My biggest dream is to become a lawyer one day. I really want to study law.
- Mary Maureen

My story

Maureen hails from a family of six, residing with her mother in the heart of northern Uganda. Despite the adversities she has faced, she successfully completed her senior six and is poised to join university, a testament to her resilience and determination. Fortunately, Maureen's health has been stable, with no serious medical conditions on record. However, the longstanding conflict involving the Lord's Resistance Army in northern Uganda has significantly impacted her life. This tumultuous situation has left many, including Maureen's family, in a state of vulnerability and severe poverty. Maureen's mother, a humble food vendor, has been the family's primary source of sustenance. Maureen's participation in our program is a direct result of these challenging circumstances. Her story reflects the stark realities of many children in northern Uganda, striving for a better future amidst ongoing adversity.

Why Mary Maureen needs our help

Maureen requires assistance due to her family's financial constraints. Her mother struggles to afford her tuition, and while the SEVAC Foundation Uganda helps with functional fees, it does not cover educational costs. Thus, Maureen's educational progress is at risk without additional support.
